In partnership with World Space Week, VILD – House of Little recently hosted WATCH THIS SPACE, an event bringing together 50 female artists, scientists and engineers to celebrate females in science and encourage a powerful start for girls in the future.
This event launched the AW17 collection ‘OUTER SPACE’ - Vild Lab No.5, which is now available for purchase from the online store. Proceeds will go towards supporting mothers2mothers, a non-profit organisation that believes in the power of women to end paediatric AIDS. m2m educate, train, employ, and empower mothers living with HIV to bring health and hope to other mothers, their families, and communities. www.m2m.org
Guest speakers from Imperial College London, Women in Technology department at PwC, the WISE Campaign and Twinkle were giving inspiring talks and addressed the challenges facing females within the field of Mathematics, Science and Technology today and encouraged guests to make a change for girls in future generations.
There was also a film installation featuring exclusive interviews with the first female human computers at NASA Langley, celebrating the foundational work that these women did.
The event, held in an old piano factory in London, took place on the International Day of the Girl, as this collection is especially dedicated to game-changing women and brave little girls.
